Play It Safe This Month and Beyond

By G. Neil Corp.

Seems like theres a month for everything these days. January was National Mentoring Month. February was Childrens Dental Health Month and National Novel Writing Month started on March 1st.

Some might think it is a bit much. But there is one monthly observance that employers should take a particular interest in: National Safety Month, which begins in June. This years theme will be 'Safety: Where We Live, Work and Play.'

Consider some examples of what can happen when safety awareness is compromised:

An employee tripped over a group of boxes stored in the office walkways, causing her to fall and hit her head on the edge of a desk. The employee was left with a severe concussion. Obviously, if the boxes had simply been moved out of harms way, the employee probably would have never fallen and been seriously injured.¹

While trying to make electrical repairs to a courthouse, an engineer was suddenly electrocuted. If he had only been careful enough to lock out a circuit before performing the repairs, he may had avoided the shock.¹

What can you do? Develop safety initiatives to support practices that minimize accidents and the inevitable economic losses that ensue.

You are responsible for establishing a climate of safety-consciousness among your employees. You can motivate them to dedicate themselves to safety through recognition and rewards. Thats why G.Neil offers an array of safety incentive products to help you and your employees foster a climate of safety awareness in your workplace. From T-shirts to tote bags, sport bottles to safety certificates, weve got the tools to help you reward your employees and keep safety top-of-mind.

G.Neil also offers an innovative and effective series of Safety Training Programs, available on a variety of topics. Give us a call today at 800-999-9111 and let us help you put together a safety product package tailor-made for your business.
