TALLAHASSEE — In a first-of-its-kind battle over gun rights, a federal judge in Miami has temporarily blocked Florida from enforcing a controversial new law that aimed to prevent doctors from asking patients whether they have firearms in their homes.
Gun Hunters Safety School will be 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday at Waukomis Elementary School cafeteria, 3rd and Locust. The event is free to the public. Those completing the course can gain certification needed for hunting license requirements, said Tim Vanover, Waukomis FFA adviser.
